Pick’Em Contest Rules
How to Play
Courtside Pick'Em is a daily fantasy sports (DFS) contest format offered by Courtside. Participants build lineups of athletes and select whether the chosen athletes will outperform or underperform their statistical projections during real-world sporting events.
To build a valid contest entry:
- Choose two or more athletes from two or more teams, and select Over or Under on any of their statistical projections. Each projection has a corresponding Selection Multiplier based on the likelihood that the athlete achieves that projection.
- The combination of Selection Multipliers for your entry produces a Contest Multiplier.
- Choose your Entry Fee after adding selections to your cart. Then choose between a Max Payout (all selections must win to earn a prize) or a Flex (can have up to 1 losing selection and still win a prize).
- Submit your entry to receive a Contest Score equal to the product of your Contest Multiplier and Entry Fee. The Contest Score represents your maximum potential payout for a Winning Entry.
Once submitted, your entry is active. Track your entries in the "My Picks" section of the app for real-time status of your selections and progress.
Eligibility
Courtside Pick'Em is available in jurisdictions where such contests are permitted under applicable law. Availability may vary and is subject to change. Please check the Courtside app or website for the most current list of eligible jurisdictions.
Participants must meet the minimum age requirement in their jurisdiction and must have a valid Courtside account in good standing.
Contest Prizes
Once all athletes in your entry have completed their games and results are finalized, your Winning Entry becomes eligible to receive prizing.
All Winning Entries receive a Winning Entry Payout equal to their Contest Score. This payout occurs immediately once a Winning Entry settles. You can view your entry status and payout details in the "My Picks" section of the app.
General Rules
- Customers cannot cancel entries once submitted.
- For all picks, overtime is included in final stats (unless otherwise specified in the app or sport-specific rules). Shootouts and penalty kicks are not included.
- For second half scoring projections, overtime is included unless otherwise specified in sport-specific rules.
- All minimums, maximums, and multipliers are subject to change without prior written notice.
- Courtside does not recognize protested games and overturned decisions.
- All sporting events must be played on the scheduled date unless otherwise specified. If an event is postponed, rescheduled, or there is a change of venue, all selections from that game will automatically constitute No Action and be voided (unless sport-specific rules state otherwise). All entries will be recalculated excluding that selection (e.g., a 3-pick entry becomes a 2-pick entry).
- All contest scores are calculated using the selection multipliers at the time of entry submission.
- In the case of an obvious error on the posted projection or multiplier, scheduled time, or maximum entry amount, entries will be deemed No Action and all funds credited or refunded accordingly. Obvious error determinations are at the sole direction of Courtside, supported by differences in projections and multipliers in comparison to market data at the time of submission.
- In the event of a settlement error or in-game stat correction, all selections will be corrected to the proper outcome at Courtside's discretion. These corrections may result in changes to customer fund balances if winning entries are affected.
- Dates and start times of events are for guidance purposes only. If an entry is inadvertently accepted after an event has started, the affected selection(s) will be voided.
- Athlete statistics and game data for in-play events are shown for display purposes only. We do not guarantee their accuracy and recommend checking with other sources. Selections will not be voided or refunded due to discrepancies in statistical or game data display.
- Stats are considered official after the following minimum periods of play:
- Soccer: 90 minutes of play. Overtime and/or penalty shots are not included unless otherwise stated.
- Football (NCAA and NFL): 55 minutes of play.
- Basketball (NBA): 43 minutes of play.
- Basketball (NCAA): 35 minutes of play.
- Baseball (MLB): 8.5 innings (if the home team leads after at least 8.5 innings or the away team leads after at least 9 innings). EXCEPT if the game is shortened but determined to be official after at least 4.5 innings — in such a case, if the player has gone over the projected total, picks on the over settle as winners; picks on the under settle as losers.
- Hockey (NHL): 55 minutes of play.
- Tennis (ATP and WTA): Best of 3 sets or 5 sets, unless the match ends due to retirement or disqualification.
- MMA: Stats are official after one second unless the fight is ruled a No Contest.
- All other sporting events: 55 minutes of play.
- All contests that involve a scheduled length of play time or time limit must be played to their conclusion or have five minutes or less of scheduled playing time remaining when the contest concludes to be considered official for stats prediction purposes.
- If a player starts a game, results will be settled based on the player’s statistics at the conclusion of the game, regardless of whether the player plays the entire game or is removed from the game early due to substitution and/or injury.
Scoring and Payouts
Courtside uses statistics from third-party data vendors for providing game results and real-time entertainment value. Courtside may change third-party providers from time to time without notice. For more information, contact Courtside customer service at support@courtside.app.
Live scoring updates are strictly for user enjoyment. Courtside's official scoring validation process begins once all games are final, ensuring scoring matches official stat providers when contest results are finalized and paid out.
Stat Corrections
On occasion, official scorers may issue a stat correction after games have ended and the official scoring validation process has completed. These corrections are rare but can occur days after a game is played. Changes to official scoring that occur after contests have been finalized will not impact those finalized contests.
Conversely, if a correction needs to be made after contests are finalized due to an error with the data feed or finalization process, the finalization process (including payment) may be reversed and re-settled correctly. Such decisions are determined solely at Courtside's discretion in the best interest of our customer experience.
Selection statistics and their outcomes are intended to align with final game box scores at the time of contest payouts, independent of contest payout timing for other operators in the same sport and involving the same games.
Note: The official scoring validation process is solely to ensure that Courtside's contest results are determined based on official scoring. Delays during this process may occur due to data collection or technical difficulties. Courtside will not make judgments on scoring rulings, and changes will not be determined based on website links to alternate scoring sources, social media posts, or videos sent to customer support.
